Thank you to Caroline Wilson from The British Consul General in Hong Kong, for hosting a very enjoyable reception to help promote British construction in the region.

It allowed for UK Companies to highlight the world leading knowledge they hold in terms of sustainable design. As one of only two architectural practices to attend the reception we were well placed to enhance the 'Green is Great' campaign being championed by the Consul General.

As part of our continued development of Astudio in Hong Kong we were invited to take part in the mid-term reviews for the MArch students at CUHK

The subject matter of the unit was 'Conserving Change' - an interesting topic for Hong Kong given that its a city that's very much built on looking forward rather than preserving the past. Our own experience of marrying contemporary architecture with buildings of historical merit allowed us to impart some much needed expertise into the discussions.

Astudio Asia

We have had quite a day in Hong Kong. After 6 years in practice we have set up Astudio Asia.

Today we opened the bank account from the HSBC temple.  To give you all an idea of the significance of this, I spent 12 years walking past a 2m model of this building several times a day when I was working at Foster and Partners.  To be rising up through the building to open Astudio’s bank account was a truly memorable experience.  I am sure working in Hong Kong will bring more fantastic moments  . . . .
