Max's passion for architecture has been pivotal for Astudio since it was founded. Using a whole range of techniques; from sketches to advanced 3d tools, Max’s care and dedication for good design brings a depth to every project in the studio.
From the early stages of each project Max helps to formalise a narrative to guide the journey of every scheme. Max believes that good buildings are those that truly understand their context, both culturally and physically to create a unique response which contributes to the quality of the urban space. By leading design reviews, alongside his fellow directors, within the studio Max is able to guide each project making sure a clear design response is achieved from its brief response to its material language.
Max has lead the award winning Wigan Life Centre civic campus scheme which has been recognised as an exemplar urban regeneration project for Wigan town centre; he has also been responsible for Tokko MyPlace Youth Centre in Luton working and mentoring a group of young clients during the design process. Prior to this he was a founding Director of CPR Arquitectos where his work was recognised internationally for the National Health Institute of Venezuela - Production Laboratories and Administrative buildings project.
Max also has a keen involvement in academia as a teacher and as an invited critic for different universities in South America and Europe. Mentoring has been a great part of his architectural career as he believes a constant dialogue between professional work and academia nurture each other.
