Ittai Bio

Ittai

שלום  ( Hebrew )

In the studio:

Having worked for more than six years in renowned international practices in London, I joined astudio and was drawn to its unique approach to design combining both research and practical knowledge in finding innovative solutions to challenges faced by today’s building industry. My background in modular systems approach and computational design provided a good base to lead projects that deal with Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) design of the practice.

One of my keen interests is in community led participatory design and how digital tools can be used in facilitating its bottom up realization. Having led such projects that have been built in London and abroad, this work has been published in the Architects Journal, Architectural Design and many online publications. Additionally, I have taught and served as a guest critic in various universities including the Architectural Association, University of East London, The American Intercontinental University and Bezalel academy Jerusalem.

One amazing fact:

I served in a combat unit in the Israeli army but my proudest achievement there was receiving an official goat herding certificate. A skill that I have used exactly zero times since but hope to make use of one day.

Outside the studio:

When not at work you can find me cycling around London or in the countryside. I also have a love of anything relating with food or music.
