Inside the studio:
Having worked for over 9 years at astudio, I have been associated with the majority of projects that we have worked on. Most of these have now been completed or are on site. My involvement with all aspects of the design, this is a feature of such a diverse design office, you are trusted and listened to. We are given the courage to explore and challenged to think outside the box.
As BIM is taking a stronghold within the Building Industry, we as a team have been able to experiment, innovate and implement the latest of technology and workflows.I enjoy helping people and supporting the use of technology to make things happen. I get a kick out of problem solving particularly working efficiently and when things work.
One of my biggest achievements are being given the challenge of setting up a BIM forum. This was done to enhance and share our BIM Knowledge. I founded the ABD Forum in July 2014, a monthly discussion group of Designers. This has been very successful and recently became a BIM4DESIGN group which is associated with the UK BIM Alliance. astudio currently chairs this forum and our members represent BIM leads from leading architectural practices.
As we are the creators and users of the BIM Models in a practice, the group contains a massive wealth of experience. Collectively we would like to provide practical crucial feedback to the UK BIM Alliance to help shape the future of the national and international BIM strategy.
Outside the studio:
At the weekend you can usually find me, tinkering on the house, transporting the children to the swimming pool for their training. I also enjoy going on walks around Winchester as you can feel the history surrounding you. I like my family to enjoy this too, to give them sense of belonging and taking an interest in our history.
One Amazing Fact:
My party trick is in the Kitchen. I enjoy cooking and have made “Sate” an Indonesian Barbeque meat dish with a peanut sauce. I have made this dish for my son’s school summer Fayre and is always been a great hit!
