World Earth Day is a reminder to us all the need to protect the environment we have been given.
In this video, astudio’s founder, Richard Hyams shares his daughters thoughts on the environmental impact of Covid-19, including the more positive news that global carbon emissions are dropping as a result of the reduction in transport.
It is positive and neccessary that the young generation is engaged about the issues as a society we face with regards to global warming and the environemt. As lockdown is eased and we think about resuming to our old routines, returning to work, and travel, creating greenhouse gases in the same way we did before, it is worth us looking to adjust and reset to ‘new norms’, thinking how we can commit to better practice across all industries and at home.
In architecture this involves looking at the design and construction processes to improve efficiency, use of materials and reduction of time, and transportation.
